3. CRUISE AROUND PATAGONIAN FJORDS Weather permitting, a private cruise through the Ultima Esperanza Sound introduces you to a mystical landscape of fjords, mountains, cliffs and caves, plunging waterfalls, and ice floes. Disembark at glacier-filled Bernardo O’Higgins National Park for an easy trek through the wilderness to a viewpoint overlooking Serrano Glacier. See Serrano and Balmaceda glaciers as you cruise around Patagonian fjords en route to an estancia for lunch, a sheep-shearing demonstration and an optional hike. A choice of afternoon enrichment includes a guided tour of your hotel and a private lecture on the history of the Patagonian people. This evening, join us in the hotel’s award-winning gourmet restaurant for a special wine-pairing dinner featuring world-famous Chilean wines and regional cuisine. Meals BLD

4. TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK Journey north from Puerto Natales to the heart of one of South America’s most spectacular nature preserves, a photographer’s paradise of glacier-carved fjords, valleys, mountains, steppes, and sub-polar forests – all dominated by the grandeur of Torres del Paine, a unique trio of granite peaks with serrated edges that jut dramatically skyward. Torres del Paine are also known as nature’s Cleopatra’s Needles. Against this backdrop the park’s lakes are remarkably vivid – in shades of emerald and turquoise – owing to rock flour settling from the restless grinding of the mountains by glaciers. The palette of the lakes is offset by rolling plains covered with red wildflowers. The rugged landscape is populated by foxes, pumas, guanacos, rheas, and large birds of prey. Lunch at a ranch for a taste of local life and cuisine, then head back to your hotel from your immersion in Patagonia’s intoxicating natural wonders. This evening you’ll dine à la carte in the main restaurant at your hotel, The Singular Patagonia. Meals BLD

5. A SINGULAR DAY IN PUERTO NATALES Spend the day exploring as you please. At the resort, a variety of activities* are included, such as kayaking, bicycling, condor-watching, hiking, cave exploring, and horseback riding. Your hotel itself is an official national monument for its significance in the region’s heritage, so in addition to great amenities, it offers a museum of exhibits on local history and the restored machinery from its factory days. You might also investigate the city of Puerto Natales, learn about its mix of European and indigenous cultures, and discover the wide array of cafés and bars catering to international tastes. Tonight you’ll enjoy a private Tauck family-style dinner at The Grill in your hotel, feasting on fresh lamb prepared with delicious regional ingredients on an open wood-burning grill. Meals BLD
