2. THE GREAT WALL & LIFE IN THE HUTONGS Take a walk atop the highest point of the Great Wall at the Badaling section, descending down a stone path to the bottom on foot. 3. A FORBIDDEN CITY & A HEAVENLY TEMPLE Take a short drive to visit the architecturally resplendent Temple of Heaven this morning. Watch locals practice Tai Chi and learn the moves yourself, before visiting the Forbidden City, once home to China’s emperors. Beyond it you’ll see Tiananmen Square and the mausoleum of Mao Zedong.
