NATURE’S PLAYGROUND... PURA VIDA Tiny Costa Rica, meaning rich coast in Spanish, is big on flora, fauna and natural treasures, simply beautiful to behold and thrilling to experience. Among the world’s top 20 countries for biodiversity, Costa Rica is paradise for adventurers looking to actively interact with nature, for eco-tourists, botanists and wildlife enthusiasts thrilled by communing with flora and fauna, for lovers of garden fresh-food and fun in the sun, and travelers who appreciate a friendly smile and warm welcome during their stay. Costa Rica, not surprisingly, is renowned as one of the happiest places on Earth... and seeing it with Tauck makes it more rewarding still!
A COLORFUL KALEIDOSCOPE IN THE SKY...
Between birds and butterflies, Costa Rican airspace is ablaze with color. Candy-striped toucans and scarlet macaws dazzle sky walkers in cloud forests and jungles throughout the country. The names of the hummingbirds, from green-crowned brilliants to purple-throated mountain gems, will evoke smiles! And the butterflies, boldly dressed in electric blue, fiery orange and sunshine yellow, never fail to tickle your fancy! See them up close on visits to the Toucan Rescue Center in Arenal National Park and Monteverde Reserve where the butterfly garden is alive with flamboyantly dressed locals.
6. MORNING COFFEE & A NIGHTTIME WALK Wake up for a private tour of a nearby coffee plantation. Learn about the history, cultivation, and processing of coffee from the bean to the cup, seeing how ripe “cherries” are harvested, dried, roasted and ground before making their way to your morning mug. Spend the afternoon at leisure at your resort. When the sun goes down in Costa Rica, much of its wildlife gets up. Join us for an optional nighttime nature walk to view nocturnal animals start their day. Our expert guide will share insights about the various wildlife you may spot, including tree frogs, coatimundis, agoutis, sloths, and armadillos. Meals BLD
