PACK YOUR BOOTS AND BINOCULARS for an active adventure on the southern tip of South America, where Argentina and Chile meet in a spectacular landscape defined by glaciers and the southern Andes... explore dramatic national parks, including the eerily groaning and cracking Perito Moreno Glacier – a UNESCO World Heritage Site... take a private cruise in the Ultima Esperanza Sound and cruise Lake Argentino... spot guanacos and rheas... get to know cowboys, shepherds, a horse whisperer, and world-famous silversmiths... and enjoy tango, mate tea, and stays at premier hotels, including one designed by a president!

1. ARRIVE SANTIAGO Tour begins: 6:00 PM, The Singular Santiago. We’ll meet you at the airport. 2. PICTURESQUE PUERTO NATALES Fly this morning from Santiago to Punta Arenas, deep in the southern tip of the continent, near Tierra del Fuego. This “city of red roofs,” established in the 19th century as a penal colony and coaling station for steamships, is usually a jumping-off point for

Antarctic expeditions, but today it’s a leg on your journey to the otherworldly landscapes found in Torres del Paine National Park. From here you travel to Puerto Natales, a city on the shores of the Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope) Sound. Named by a 16th-century Spanish explorer who became lost in the maze of channels and fjords while searching for the Strait of Magellan, the area was later settled by European immigrants as a shipping port for the local wool and meat-packing industry in the early 20th century. Arrive late afternoon and check in to your accommodations at The Singular Patagonia, formerly a waterfront factory built in 1915, and now an award-winning luxury resort with dramatic floor-to-ceiling views of the sound and mountain ranges.
