URUGUAY - Codere adquiere el total de Hípica Rioplatense
Codere, el grupo de apuestas y juegos de azar con sede en España, ha anunciado la adquisición del 50% adicional de Hípica Rioplatense Uruguay (HRU), por 33 millones de dólares, convirtiéndose de esta forma en propietario del total de la sociedad. HRU gestiona dos hipódromos en el país sudamericano.

URUGUAY – Codere acquires Hípica Rioplatense
Codere, the Spanish based betting and gaming group announced the acquisition of the additional 50% of Hípica Rioplatense Uruguay (HRU), for USD33 million. In this way Codere becomes full owner of HRU, which manages two racecourses in the South American country.

En la comunicación de Hecho Relevante a la Bolsa de Valores de Madrid, el Consejo de Administración de Codere S.A., el día 29 de noviembre de 2016, autorizó dicha adquisición de Verfin Overseas Inc., y como consecuencia, “Codere pasará a ser titular de la totalidad del capital social de HRU, S.A. una vez sean recibidos los fondos de la transacción”.
HRU fue creada en 2002 por Sociedad Latinoamericana de
Inversiones y Codere, cuando logró la adjudicación del Hipódromo Nacional de Maroñas para su gestión junto con la Dirección General de Casinos de Uruguay. La concesión prevé un contrato de arrendamiento al Estado para la explotación de cinco centros de entretenimiento y además, la empresa cuenta con más de 25 agencias de emisión de carreras en Uruguay.

HRU was created in 2002 by Sociedad Latinoamericana de
Inversiones and Codere, when they won the concession tender to operate the Maroñas National Racetrack, jointly with the Uruguay’s Direccion General de Casinos (the country’s regulator and operator). The concession contract with the State has a provision for the exploitation of five (gaming) entertainment centres. Codere also operates over 25 horse betting agencies in Uruguay.
