167. The mitigation measures outlined for the construction of the cable route and converter stations, for the control of noise, would therefore also be expected to be adopted for the decommissioning phase.

Cumulative Impacts

168. This section describes the cumulative impact assessment for noise, taking into consideration other plans, projects and activities.

169. In its simplest form, the cumulative impact assessment strategy involves consideration of whether impacts on a receptor can occur on a cumulative basis between East Anglia ONE, East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR and other activities, projects and plans for which sufficient information regarding location and scale exist.

170. As each project will be constructed at different times and are not anticipated to be constructed concurrently there is no opportunity for cumulative construction impacts to occur between the East Anglia ONE, East Anglia THREE or East Anglia FOUR

Table 26.28 Potential cumulative impacts Impact

Scenario 1: Open Trenching construction

Scenario 2: Pre-installed Ducts construction

Operation No No Yes

Potential for cumulative impact

Data confidence Rationale Medium Medium High

Projects have distinct and separated timetables

Projects have distinct and separated timetables

Operational noise impact of East Anglia ONE, THREE and FOUR converter stations operating concurrently.

Decommissioning No High

Assume East Anglia ONE, THREE and FOUR are decommissioned at different times
