157. This noise and vibration impact decision on Rose Cottage is deemed applicable to East Anglia THREE.


Potential Impacts during Operation


Impact 1: increased noise on residential receptors at the landfall 158. There would be no operational noise effects from the landfall location of the onshore cable route.


Impact 2: increased noise on residential receptors along the onshore cable route 159. There would be small amounts of traffic associated within occasional maintenance of the cable (undertaken at the jointing bays). The noise increase as a result of this traffic and as a result of maintenance works on the cable would be of negligible magnitude on receptors of medium sensitivity and therefore of negligible significance


Impact 3: increased noise on residential receptors from the converter station 160. For both construction scenarios the impacts of the predicted noise levels from the converter station at surrounding residential receptors (medium sensitivity) are presented in Table 26.27. The impacts are defined by comparison with impact criteria within section 26.4.6.3.


161. East Anglia THREE will commit to a requirement limiting operational noise from the converter station to no greater than 35dB LAeq, 5 min at Bullenhall Farm, Hill Farm and Woodlands Farm. The effect of this requirement will be such that noise emissions from East Anglia THREE either alone or in combination with East Anglia ONE (under Scenario 1) will not exceed the prescribed limit. .
