t’s the middle of the second game of your scratch league. You mow down ten pins to give you the front six. Now it hits you that you’re halfway to your dream: a 300 game. You feel your
chest tighten, and your hands suddenly feel clammy. Well, this is NOT the time to start developing a mental game— although what happens in the next 10 or 15 minutes will play a role in what you should do over the next few months to improve your chances for big success on the lanes. Hall-of-Famer Norm Duke says the best mental games are built
of confidence, and confidence is a product of knowledge, experi- ence and preparation. Success can literally grow upon itself.
