Focus on Sensor Technology 59 Highly Versatile Measuring, Control
and Warning Unit for Gas Sensors ADOS’ FlexADOS 914 LON is a highly reliable measuring, control and warning unit for gas sensors. It continuously monitors the ambient air and provides an early warning of harmful, explosive and non-flammable gases and vapours. Together with the TOX 914 LON gas transmitters, FlexADOS 914 LON fulfils VDI guideline 2053 from December 2014 and also EN 50271:2011 (SIL 1).
FlexADOS 914 LON has been successfully used in a wide variety of applications, mainly in underground carparks and tunnels.
ADOS’ versatile unit can control up to 60 digital LONbus sensors (TOX 914 LON, LCTR 404 LON) with 5 alarm thresholds per sensor (Averaging from 1 to 60 minutes possible, 2 levels - fan areas - can be displayed), independently adjustable from 10 to 90% of the measur- ing range. It is easy to assemble and simple to use; there is a menu-guided setting of the device parameters using 6-part keyboard, a graphic LCD display shows actual values, mean values and faults in plain text and an indicator for operation, malfunction, maintenance or power failure. Users are offered a maximum of 14 potential-free changeover contacts to control further warning and control facilities and potential-free changeover contact for malfunction, maintenance and power failure.
The FlexADOS 914 LON is enclosed in an IP54 rated plastic wall housing, has very low power consumption and can operate with an uninterrupted power supply. A range of accessories, such as warning lights and horns are available as wells as further items for operators with more complex measuring tasks.
Alcohol and Formaldehyde Detection Sensors Among Others in Expanded Range

Dart Sensors is a British chemical sensor developer and manufacturer, founded in 1994 and drawing on 40 years experience in the field. Leaders in breath alcohol and formaldehyde detection, Dart Sensors are currently expanding our product range, introducing variations on existing sensors while introducing innovative products.
Alcohol sensors: the world’s first skin-contacting transdermal alcohol sensor has been adopted by BACtrack of San Francisco for their “Skyn” wearable product which communicates a continuous alcohol measurement to a mobile
phone; and an all new high temperature-resistant breath alcohol sensor which has passed exposures at 85C for 500 hours with uncompensated humidity is being rolled out to meet exacting vehicle interlock specifications.
Food Freshness: This sensor is sensitive to vapours given off during food spoilage from a variety of classes of foodstuffs, and can be installed in an intelligent refrigerator.
Oxygen sensor: The world’s first lead-free, industry compatible, two pin fuel cell oxygen sensor, is currently undergoing life tests. No need to make the change to receive three- pin oxygen sensors!
Dart Sensors is further pleased to announce a joint venture with Shenzhen Prosense Technologies, under which certain new DS products will be assembled in China using original Dart Sensors components. Prosense will market the sensors within the China market subject to DS auditing procedures, and our Chinese subsidiary Dart Sensors Shenzhen Ltd will export from China to the external world markets. This will give us access to very high volume, low cost manufacture, and as Dart Sensors currently exports 100% of sensor product from the UK, an alternative supply route in the event of fallout from its departure from the European Union. Enquiries from potential distributors worldwide for these products are welcome. Products already listed are:
Formaldehyde pre-calibrated module, 0.03 – 2 ppm. Formaldehyde is notoriously difficult to handle and presents sensor customers with problems in obtaining a reliable calibration. This product outputs a pre-calibrated formaldehyde ppm output directly. Accuracy is assured by cross-checking across three different assay methods. For automotive air quality applications a high temperature (85C) resistant version will be offered.
Low cost carbon monoxide sensor: a high quality leakproof sensor for high volume applications. Target price for large volumes is currently $6 and we are confident that we can progressively take the price lower.
Hydrogen sensor: ready soon, an industry standard three pin sensor. This will be the basis for the introduction of other competitively priced three pin industrial gas sensors.
Dart Sensors’ sensor development is entirely customer driven. Let them solve your chemical sensing problem.

MOCON, Inc. – Baseline’s line of piD- TECH® eVx sensors deliver performance photoionisation detector (PID) detection for OEM markets. As one of the most widely used gas detection techniques, the PID, in general, is commonly applied in both portable and fixed instruments for detection of a wide variety of organic compounds in ambient air.
MOCON’s plug-in piD-TECH eVx’s capabilities include: minimum detection limits down to 0.5 ppb, greater stability over temperature changes, minimal humidity response, integral shielding, reduced dead volume, reduced and improved response time, and an internally regulated supply voltage able to accept input voltages from 3.2 V to 5.5 V.
The piD-TECH eVx plug-in sensor provides complete photoionisation detection capabilities and is designed to be mechanically interchangeable with major brands of electrochemical sensors. Therefore, it can be installed in portable and stationary gas monitor that accepts City Technology 4P cells.
The MOCON piD-TECH eVx detection capabilities and minimum detection quantity (MDQ) come in eight ranges depending upon lamp energy and application requirements. Some common applications for the piD-TECH eVx sensor include indoor air quality, industrial hygiene and safety monitoring, confined space entry, soil contamination and remediation, hazmat sites and spills, EPA Method 21, and low-concentration leak detection.
MOCON will be at SENSOR+TEST 2017, in Hall 1, Stand 220.
