Amadeus Leading event and venue caterer Amadeus has appointed a new head of marketing to join its award winning business. Alison Kirk brings with her 20


years’ experience, with a wealth of knowledge in B2B and consumer marketing. Previous to her role at Amadeus,


she spent seven years leading the strategic marketing and income generation plan for VAST, a voluntary and community charity in Staffordshire. She will be responsible for


driving key initiatives and raising the profile of Amadeus’ portfolio which includes catering for four million visitors a year as part of the NEC Group – comprising of the NEC, ICC, Vox Conference Centre, Genting and Barclaycard Arenas.


Gowling WLG Gowling WLG has announced three partner promotions in Birmingham. The new Birmingham partners


are Samantha Holland, Mark Stephenson and Liz Gane. Samantha Holland is part of the


commercial litigation team and has advised on some of the firm's most high profile disputes including Hamilton v Di Resta and Safeway Stores plc v Twigger. Mark Stephenson specialises in


non-contentious construction law acting predominantly for real estate developers and investors (both listed and privately owned). Liz Gane becomes a partner in


the pensions team and has a wealth of experience advising both trustee and employer side clients on a range of pensions issues.

Grant Thornton The Birmingham office of business and finance adviser Grant Thornton has invested further in its city-based tax team with four key appointments. Joining the firm’s Entrepreneur and Private Client (EPC) team following


11 years at law firm Gateley is senior manager Victoria Metcalfe, a tax law specialist. Her new role will also include advising business owners on tax- effective succession planning. Also recently recruited to the EPC team is Charlotte Hampton, who joins


Grant Thornton from Deloitte. She is currently working with Grant Thornton’s growing portfolio of ultra-high net worth individuals and their families. Grant Thornton’s corporate tax team is also expanding, with the


appointment of two new associate directors. Jessica Fountain, who also joins from Deloitte, specialises in advising mid-sized companies. Fellow associate director Neil Rogers has joined Grant Thornton with


over 25 years’ specialisation in employment tax, including the last 11 years at EY in Manchester. His new role will include advising businesses on the raft of new employment tax legislation due to take effect in April and to spearhead additional growth in the firm’s employer solutions department.


WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff in Birmingham has bolstered its development and environmental teams with two senior hires, who are among an intake of nine new starters. Lisa Jenkinson has been appointed as associate director in the


environmental department, and is joined by three other new starters in the environmental team including senior consultant Will Allaway. With 14 years’ experience working in this area, Lisa has been involved in


many large infrastructure projects, including the application submission for Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon. Greg Dobbins is an associate in the development team, also bringing 14


years’ experience to the role. He is joined by principal transport planner Walter Bailey, also appointed to the development team. Other new starters are graduate engineer Erika Espinosa (highways and


bridges), assistant land referencer Foteini Themeli, ecologist Lynne Spencer, project coordinator Mohammed Taib and risk analyst Nikos Ioannou.

Pinsent Masons International law firm Pinsent Masons has announced the promotion of 16 individuals, taking effect from 1 May 2017. From the firm's Birmingham


office, employment expert, Helen Corden, head of Pinsent Masons' Education Employment practice, was promoted to position of partner. Also in Birmingham, it was


announced that Heidi Slater (Property) and Chris Thomas (Non- Contentious Tax) have been promoted to the position of legal director.


The Winery The Winery in Burton have appointed Iain MacPherson as restaurant director. He brings a wealth of experience


to the job, having been in charge of restaurants all over the country including in Cornwall and the North West. He said: “I'm thrilled to be in


Burton leading the talented team, welcoming and serving guests old and new with great food and drinks at this wonderful restaurant with so much potential in its delightful town centre riverside setting.”
