Costa Barber Singers: The Barber shop singers now have a new rehearsal venue, Casal D’asociaciones in Benissa where new singers are always welcome. The group teach four-part acapella harmony

Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only is it a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expats researching community life in Spain. The diary also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.


Cantabile Ladies Choir: The choir are rehearsing their next concert scheduled for Saturday 14th May, 7pm at La Siesta Church. If you are interested in joining a group of sociable, friendly ladies, you will be given a warm welcome. Rehearsals take place

Caprice: The launch of a new singing group exploring the lighter more whimsical side of music. They will be singing a variety of music from Lehar and Offenbach to Gilbert & Sullivan plus madrigals, both traditional and with a modern twist. Careline Theatre:


Rehearsals have commenced for their November variety showcase performance. The show will include musical theatre song and dance numbers, pop music and a bit of comedy acting thrown in for good measure! Rehearsals are 7pm to 9pm on Monday nights at the Footlights Centre in Calpe. GASP: Now into final rehearsals for their performance scheduled for 21st and 22nd May at the Santara Resort (Life Resort) Gran Alacant with curtain up at 7.30pm. The play is the fast moving comedy ‘Breath of Spring’ involving a group of pensioners, fur coats and of course a policeman. Tickets

Next production ‘After a Fashion’ takes the audience on a journey through their many costumes and props in song, dance and laughter. Jávea Players: The Players are on the move from Truvy’s (Steel Magnolias) to the Plaza Baix (Javea Old Town) this July and invite you to join them. Party with Rob Sweeny and Strikland on 2nd July to enjoy an alfresco supper followed by ‘The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley’ in the Casa de Cultura on 4th to 9th July. It’s going to be fun. Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir: After the exciting tour to the Choir Festival at Lloret de Mar, the Choir holds its first local concert of the season with special guests from the UK ‘The Basingstoke Ladies Choir’ at the Salon de Actos in Teulada, 14th May.
