Female Focus Another new service available at Parasol Care Centre
GPS Locators for persons with dementia or diminished responsibility - available FREE to those on either a Spanish or English pension (conditions apply).
For your peace of mind and security Parasol Care Centre in Javea is working with Cruz Roja to offer a permanent GPS tracking service for persons with dementia or diminished responsibility. The GPS tracker allows a person affected by dementia or diminished responsibility to be able to stay in their own home for longer and allows the family or carers the means to live with the confidence that by fitting this device the individual will never become physically lost.
The service works via a mobile phone network and a permanent locating GPS device thus allowing continual monitoring of the whereabouts of the vulnerable person and the detection of potentially dangerous situations relating to the person and their usual activities. For example the family or caregiver could receive notice that the person being monitored has moved into an area which has been previously preset as ‘potentially dangerous’ for them, or that the person being monitored has left the area previously preset as being ‘safe’.
The GPS device is secured to the person’s clothing, most usually attached to their belt, meaning that the person being monitored cannot leave home without it. Even more, should the individual get onto a bus or into a car the device immediately sends an alert to the family or carer when it is travelling at more than 35 kmh, and of course through the continual geographical GPS link it will be possible to track the individual’s journey, and eventual stopping point.
Via computer or any device giving access to the web, the family or caregiver can contact the Cruz Roja system whenever necessary to change and update the alert boundaries for monitoring the
