Samaritans plan new branch in Denia.
Stephen Baker and Beverley Duffin, both trustees with the Samaritans in Spain, gave a presentation to potential volunteers at the Rotes
Hotel in Denia last month. The Samaritans are planning on opening
a branch in Denia and spoke about the work they do and what is involved in becoming a Samaritan and the training involved. The Samaritans in Spain operate a 24 hour free phone telephone support service as well as an email support line covering the whole of Spain as well as having drop in centres in Torrevieja and Madrid. The branch in Denia would become the third center. It is planned to carry out training this month in Denia to establish the branch and this will take place over two consecutive days in the middle of May.
