Another local resident writer in our midst
Is the sea air of the Costa Blanca a great un-blocker of writers block?
Are you too busy with your sunblock to write that novel?!
Recently we wrote about local author Shirley Dawson, and this month we’re introducing Stuart Collins (pen name) who moved to Javea 11 years ago. Fictional crime stories are Stuart’s passion, and his writing is “arresting” enough (pun intended) to have six titles published in the Kindle Book Store.
His two most recent novels have taken
inspiration from sunny
Spain. ‘Island of Shadows’ has connections with the film industry and begins in Hollywood, moves on to Pinewood Studios in England and then to a fictional island close to the Costa Blanca, which is where the murders and mayhem commence. Reviews on amazon describe the book as “an eminently readable and intriguing
adventure” and “a well crafted novel”.
His latest book, and to date the most successful, ‘Deadly Hacking’, features a young computer hacker who moves from the UK to a life of crime on the Spanish Costa Del Sol. Again a few murders ensue, as well as some dealings in drugs and involvement with the Russian Red Mafia.
So get reading and supporting a local author who has clearly spent more time ‘scribbling’ in the sun than sunbathing or sipping sangria...

Xábia Book Circle
The next meeting of the Xábia Book Circle will take place on Tuesday 10th May in the Social Centre in Xàbia Old Town, at 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start.
This month we extend a warm welcome to our speaker, Anita Pichler, who will talk to us about the Israeli author, Amos Oz. An Israeli writer, novelist, journalist and intellectual, he is regarded as Israel’s most famous living author. After Anita’s talk, there will be time for you to share with us some of your thoughts and observations about any Jewish authors whose work you have especially enjoyed reading.
We usually meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 6.45pm and finish at 8.45pm. See our website
www.xabiabookcircle.com.
