Fundraiser Karen Carter raised a glass to the success at Magpie with the brewery’s Nick Keith and trentbarton Managing Director Jeff Counsell. She said: “Three cheers to

Magpie and trentbarton, plus all the beer lovers who drank Night Flyer. “trentbarton has been

absolutely brilliant, and not just with fundraising. It has supplied us with free shuttle buses, sold bacon butties and provided volunteers for events. We’ve had a great rapport with drivers, staff and managers.” Jeff said: “It’s been a joy to

support the Air Ambulance and to work with Magpie on crafting a quality ale with a serious message about road safety.” trentbarton has also

sponsored the football kit of Alfreton Town’s Under-11s team. The £500 deal was arranged

through the parents of one of the players. Jordan Kemp, from

trentbarton’s marketing team, said: “We’re very proud to be so visibly supporting these young players from a community- focused club and wish them every success for the season.”

Killamarsh-based trademark

attorney Howard is planning to cycle 500km from London to Paris via Dover and Dunkirk for the Alzheimer’s Society. A lifelong cycling enthusiast,

Howard decided to undertake the challenge in memory of his father who died last year. Howard’s four-day challenge will

take place from 20 to 24 July, culminating in a ride along the Champs-Elysées before finishing his challenge at the Eiffel Tower. The founder of Howard Lock

Intellectual Property said: “After a challenging cycling trip I usually need a few days to recover – one of the hardest parts of the challenge will be stepping back into the saddle each day. Cycling over 100km a day is going to be tough. “I felt taking part in the challenge was a fitting way to remember my father and to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity which provided an enormous amount of support to my parents during his illness.” To support Howard’s trek, visit www.justgiving.com/Howard-Lock
