Chamber Dinner keynote speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes

Love Business just days away

You have only a few days left to be part of one of the biggest business events of the year. Love Business takes place at

the International Exhibition Hall, Donington Park, on 11 February. Free to attend, the event is divided into zones to make it easier for

delegates to find exhibitors of interest. The Chamber is the headline sponsor of the event this year and will

have two zones – the Manufacturing and Engineering zone and the Innovation, Sustainability and Technology zone. It will be hosting its much-anticipated Manufacturing and Engineering

Ranulph Fiennes to address dinner

Once described by the Guinness Book of Records as the “world’s greatest living explorer”, Sir Ranulph Fiennes will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Chamber annual dinner. Adventurer, writer and

inspirational speaker, Sir Ranulph has enjoyed, and endured, three decades of derring-do since winning that accolade. A raconteur with a very dry

humour, he often speaks openly about his “failed” education which led him to join the Army and begin a 40-year career of global achievement. He has written over 20 books about his adventures and been presented

Anna Soubry will also speak at the event

with over 15 awards including, in 1993, being knighted (OBE) for “human endeavour and for charitable services”. By then, his expeditions had raised £14m for good causes. The Rt Hon Anna Soubry MP, Minister for Small Business Industry and

Enterprise and Conservative Member for Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire, will be the other speaker at the dinner. Anna, who studied law at Birmingham, worked as a criminal barrister in

Nottingham until elected to Parliament in 2010, since when her political star has been in the ascendancy. She was appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary to Health Minister

Simon Burns in November 2010 and two years later became Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department of Health. In 2013 she was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State and

Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans and then in 2014 she became Minister of State at the Ministry of Defence before her latest appointment. This year’s Chamber annual dinner takes place at The Roundhouse,

Derby, on 17 March. It will start with a pre-dinner drinks reception at 7.30pm. Places are still available at £85+VAT per person or £800+VAT for a table

of ten, but demand is expected to be high so early booking is recommended.
