Derby County Football Club has extended its contract with the Chamber for a further year. It was announced in December

2014 that the club had become a patron of the Chamber. And rather than blow the final whistle on the arrangement, it has chosen to continue the match for another year. The Chamber’s patron scheme

is aimed at organisations that want to take a leading role in the local business community. Chamber patrons are influential

and prominent bodies which share the values that drive the Chamber forward. Existing patrons include DHL

Express, East Midlands Airport, Experian, Dollar Financial, Wilko, Caterpillar and most recently, John Pye Auctions. Derby County’s President and

Chief Executive Sam Rush said: “We are delighted to have extended our relationship with East Midlands Chamber. “It has an excellent reputation

and we’re pleased to be working alongside it.” Chamber Chief Executive Scott

Knowles said: “We’re delighted to have Derby County Football Club on board as a patron for another year. “Sport – and football in particular

– plays a hugely significant role in the community and is a key driver of economic growth, so we look forward to supporting the club in its bid for promotion to the Premier League this season.”

team, won the November award following multiple nominations, particularly for her personal contribution to the success of the Annual Christmas Lunch – an event for which she also sold a huge volume of tickets. Laurie (right), of the Information

and Representation team, received a number of nominations for the December ‘Our Stars’ award. She won it because she is always

the first to put herself forward when help is needed by colleagues or visitors or as a stand-in at meetings and always goes the extra mile. Lucy Robinson, the Chamber’s

Director of Resources, said: “I’m delighted that Rose and Laurie were nominated by their peers, both are exceptional representatives of the Chamber.”
