Hallam Internet expands digital PR team

Aerospace sector expert Clive Snowdon has joined the growing team at Cooper Parry Corporate Finance as an industrial adviser. He has extensive experience and has led high


performing businesses in the aerospace sector. As Chief Executive at Umeco plc, Clive built the


business over 14 years from revenues of £20m to £450m through a series of acquisitions and organic growth strategies. Clive said: “This position suits where I am now in my


career, as I will be called upon to use my expertise and knowledge to help the team as and when needed.” Clive is currently a Senior Non-Executive Director of


Hill and Smith plc and is Chair of the Midland Aerospace Alliance, which supports and represents some 300 companies in the aerospace industry across the Midlands region. Barbara Wise has joined parent firm PKF Cooper


Parry, as Senior Payroll Manager. She has more than 16 years’ experience in payroll and will head up the existing team.


Having previously worked for both national and


international firms in the UK as a payroll manager, Barbara said: “This new role brings a great opportunity for me.” And Tyrone Courtman, Partner and Head of


Restructuring at the firm, has been appointed to the board of trustees at the Turnaround Management Association. He said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been


appointed to the TMA Global board of trustees and will take this opportunity to demonstrate my commitment to promoting the UK and its best in class turnaround and restructuring work to the world stage.” Finally, Jeremy Chapman joins as Head of Capital


Allowances as the firm looks to expand services to Birmingham. Jeremy expanded his expertise into capital allowances at KPMG’s Birmingham office. In 2004 he joined EC Harris, in London, as Head of Property Tax. Jeremy said: “After more than ten years at EC Harris, I was ready for a new challenge.”


After winning a stream of new business, digital marketing agency Hallam Internet is continuing to improve its digital PR offering with the appointment of Alex Jones as Digital PR Executive. Alex joins Hallam Internet after two


years at a Nottingham-based public relations consultancy, where he supported and delivered results for a range of local, national and international clients in a variety of different sectors. Alex said: “I’m incredibly pleased


to be making the move to Hallam Internet.”


Top honour for JCB boss One of the country’s leading professional engineering bodies has bestowed its highest honour on JCB Chairman Lord Bamford for his “huge impact” on UK manufacturing. Lord Bamford was appointed an


Honorary Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) after more than 50 years in the industry. He was presented


with the Honorary Fellowship along with Ratan N Tata, who was the Chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata group, for almost 20 years.


Regeneration chief joins enterprise board


Lightning promotion


Horizon Specialist Contractors has promoted Leigh Holford (pictured) to Operations Director for Lightning Protection. He will have responsibility for ensuring all aspects of daily operations in the lightning protection department. The promotion follows an


increase in contracts. Leigh joined Nottingham-based


Horizon in 2007 after completing a degree in mechanical engineering at Nottingham Trent University. He completed a Master’s degree


in Advanced Engineering and Management at Sheffield Hallam University in 2011 and was made a Chartered Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in July 2013. He said: “I am looking forward to


the challenge.”

Engineering a future for new apprentices


Four aspiring civil engineers have started apprenticeships with consulting development engineers M-EC. Elliott Green, Joseph Heffernan, Rhys Parkin and Jamie Royle have


started three-year programmes with the rapidly growing Ibstock-based company which opened offices in Birmingham and Milton Keynes last year. Elliott, Joseph and Jamie, from Swadlincote, Long Eaton and


Loughborough respectively, will be based at M-EC’s Ibstock office. Eighteen year old Rhys will join the civil engineering team in Milton Keynes. Eddie Mewies, M-EC’s Managing Director, said: “Offering apprenticeships


has undoubtedly helped the business’ growth in the past few years, and with these four new recruits, the number of apprentices currently in employment is ten, representing 21% of our total workforce.”


Ian Viles, Chief Executive of regeneration agency Erewash Partnership, has been appointed a Non-Executive Director of the National Enterprise Network, an organisation which supports enterprise in England. He has led Erewash Partnership


since it was set up 21 years ago. Ian, whose new role means he has


a say in directing policy and strategy for the NEN, said he was delighted to take up the vacancy.
