New President of Teulada Moraira Lions takes office
At T.M. Lions annual handover ceremony on 30th June, kindly hosted by Lions John & Meri Snell (yes, they’re both at it!), outgoing Club President, Colin Lilley, presented the President’s Chain of Office to his successor, David Platt, and wished David every success during his year in office. In brief addresses to the 50 strong audience made up of T.M. Lions and their guests, who included Carlos Linares, the new Alcalde of Teulada-Moraira, and his wife, both Colin and David looked back over the challenges met and successes achieved by T.M. Lions during the preceding 12 months:- The bookstall at Moraira Market continued to go from strength to strength. Every fund-raising concert held at La Senieta, Moraira sold out. T.M. Lions 2014 Season of Summer Concerts at The Seafront in Moraira proved extremely popular & well-attended. The Lions Den fund-raising shop, a project instigated by Colin during his Presidency and for which he had been the initial driving force, opened for business in September of last year and has been a major success story for T.M. Lions, with the additional revenue generated by the shop enabling the Club to build upon and expand its already wide range of community projects and activities. And finally, but by no means least, many new members joined T.M. Lions during the course of the year and already make a significant contribution to the Club whilst their enthusiasm, drive and fresh ideas bode well for the future of the Lions.
