Going Out - Page 46

During the recent formal handover of a new mini-bus to The Alzheimer’s Centre in Teulada-Moraira at which T.M. Lions were represented because they had funded the 4,780.90 Euros cost of purchasing and installing a powered hoist at the rear of the mini-bus, the Lions learned that the centre’s old bus was not the only item of equipment to need replacing. At a more prosaic level, the refrigerator in the centre’s kitchen had long passed the stage of being a bit wheezy and was now positively bronchial to the extent where it could no longer chill food down to the temperature levels required by health and safety regulations which, particularly with the advent of the summer heat, was a cause for serious concern. T.M. Lions were happy to help: The Alzheimer’s Centre identified a suitable new refrigerator with the capacity needed to enable their kitchens to continue providing meals to clients attending the centre: and the Lions donated the 644.00 Euro purchase price. Job done! Pictured (left to right) are: Xaro, Carmen & Jose Buigues, respectively the cook, secretary and head of the Board of Directors of The Alzheimer’s Centre and, of course, the centre’s new fridge!
