Car e l i ne Theatre: Next production will be the hit Musical play, Bugsy Malone. This production is being directed by Lee Walker and choreographed by Suzanna Mace. Welcome to the Stage Diary, a column that since it was first launched in 2007, has become a major central point of reference to amdram on the Costa Blanca. Not only is it a guide to what’s on in all the regions, but is also an important on-line introduction to potential expatiates researching community life in Spain. It also acts as a planning guide to assist groups avoid unnecessary clashes of production dates.
Calpe Gilbert and Sullivan Society: The society is now on their summer break, but will be starting full rehearsals again on Wednesday 2nd September in preparation for their concert performances of

Campoverde Theatre Group: The Group have just performed Let Us Entertain You. They are now taking a break until September 14th. They meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Community Centre, Blue Lagoon at 2pm and welcome new members, especially men, singers and soloists and back stage crew. They are currently looking for a Stage Manager for their pantomime, The Owl and the Pussy Cat to be staged in February. For details contact Jan on 647 579 068.
C os ta Blan ca Male Voice Choir: Rehearsals commence next month for their Christmas programme which includes a first
ever tour to a choir festival in Barcelona. Details of all activities are on

Footlights Theatre Group: Members of Calpe based Footlights Theatre Group are having a well- earned summer break until next month. Casting is now complete for the November production of the multi award winning Broadway musical Annie. Footlights are always keen to recruit additional singers and performers, to join their ranks. GASP Theatre Group: Tickets for their next show on 18th September at the Casa de Cultura Santa Pola at €4 may now be reserved by calling 966 699 845, or email
gasptheatre@hotmail.co.uk. The show will feature a collection of comedy sketches in both English and Spanish. The English speaking cast members are having great fun learning lines in Spanish, so why not come along and see how well they do. A donation will be made to Cruz Roja from the proceeds of the show.
Cantabile Ladies Choir: Now in rehearsals for a Seasonal Concert to be held at La Siesta Church Saturday 28th November, 7pm. Part one will feature songs by composers such as Elgar, Beethoven and John Rutter, the second part, Christmas melodies by modern composers. As always they welcome new singers. Jávea Players: Crocodiles in Cream, a one-man-show in which Kevin Moore presents a portrait of Lewis Carroll. The play draws on Carroll’s diaries, letters, poems and stories to take the audience into Carroll’s complex, fascinating world which is every bit as wonderful as the world of Alice’s adventures.
