The level and quality of international and regional partnership has been furthered by effective cooperation with ITU, UNESCO, UNEP and other international partners.


The Councillors looked at the future and started to draw the strategy for maintaining the relevance of ABU to its growing membership. The Administrative Council was informed about the increase in ABU membership from 192 in 2010 to 278 in 2015; increase of the AVN membership from 19 in 2010 to 29 in 2015.


The Administrative Council members were briefed about upcoming major events such as Radio Asia Conference and Radio Song Festival in Myanmar, Tashkent Media Forum in August, TV Song Festival and Women With the Wave in Istanbul. They were also informed about the hosting of the future Media Summits on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction in Phuket, Thailand in 2016 and Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2017, future PMPC in Samoa in 2015, Papua New Guinea in 2016 and Solomon Islands in 2017, ABU


ROBOCON in Indonesia in 2015.


The Councillors also approved the report of the Planning and Strategy Group meeting in Sendai and endorsed the tentative ABU planning and budget for the fiscal year of 2015/2016.


The Administrative Council placed on record its sincere thanks and appreciation to RTPRC and Ms Ma Li and her team for the outstanding hosting and the warm hospitality they have rendered to all ABU Councillors in Xi’an.

The 101st ABU Administrative Council will be held on 20 May 2016 in the capital of Fiji, Nadi.


and Dr Mottaghi agreed that CCTV and ABU are experiencing an important stage of development and there is a sound foundation for the two organisations to strengthen their partnership.

Mr Nie Chenxi said CCTV is willing to deepen the relation between the two organisations and to increase the participation of CCTV at various ABU events. Dr Mottaghi emphasized that CCTV is an important member of the ABU and plays an active role in international partnership and in supporting ABU’s goal of developing media environment in the region. He said that the ABU was looking forward to the continued leadership of members like CCTV for progressive growth in the future.
