High Expectation for ROBOCON 2015 in Indonesia


Pacific Media Partnership Conference 2015 in Samoa


25 to 27 August at the Government Convention Centre in Apia, Samoa with the theme “Partnering for Broadcasting”. In collaboration with ITU, two days of technical workshop will be conducted as a pre-runner to the conference on the 3rd day.

PACMAS –The Pacific Media Assistance Scheme which supports better governance in the Pacific region by contributing to the development of a diverse, independent and professional Pacific media system will conduct a workshop in media reporting. NHK International and other partners will support ABU organizing parallel workshop sessions on journalistic and technical aspects of media.

Since the PMPC event is held in a pacific country, the conference will provide an affordable, still valuable, opportunity for broadcasters and other media professionals to understand new concepts and mechanisms that can enhance their capacity in various aspects of broadcasting and media delivery.

Various issues were discussed concerning overall contest management and run of the competition which were all well prepared by TVRI in advance. The committee will meet again in June to confirm the day-to-day schedule of the participants and finalize every little details of the contest.


The contest theme this year is ‘ROBOMINTON’ and as at now 19 teams from 18 countries have confirmed their participation. Hosted by the Indonesian public broadcaster, the contest will take place on Sunday 23 August 2015 at the Muhammadiyah University in Yogyakarta and will be broadcast Live on TVRI.


Meanwhile, the venues for four next editions of Robocon have been confirmed as follows: 2016: Chiangmai, Thailand 2017: Tokyo, Japan 2018: Vietnam 2020: Pune, India


MNB-Mongolia has been approached to host the Robocon contest in 2019.
