A fruitful meeting took place on 25 May 2015, at ABU Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur between the two Unions. ASBU Director General, Mr Abdelrahim Suleiman was accompanied by his Training Centre Director, Mr Taleb Kadhi Amin and his Executive Assistant, Ms


Moufida Limam. ABU Secretary General Dr Javad Mottaghi had by his side all his senior colleagues.


Mr Abdelrahim Suleiman and Dr Javad Mottaghi expressed their satisfaction concerning the cooperation between the two unions and agreed that such mutual collaboration could be furthermore strengthened on areas of mutual interest. Both Unions have agreed to beef up their partnership at different levels.


Maldives Broadcasting Corporation renamed Public Service Media: Ibrahim Khaleel appointed new MD

Ibrahim Khaleel who has over 28 years of experience in media and broadcasting is the new Managing Director of PSM . He began his career in 1987 as a Reporter at Haveeru Daily. Two years later, he joined Television Maldives as News and Current Affairs Assistant Editor and in 2006, Khaleel was promoted Assistant Director General in the same department.


In 2012, he joined VMEDIA Group as CEO where he succeeded in branding the Media channel and introducing online news and print media.


Ibrahim Khaleel also served as Vice President of Maldives Media Association in 2007 and as President of the Maldives Media Council from 2012 to 2014.
