IRIB Top Radio Presenter Dies


M last May.


Born in 1957 in a coastal city in Northern Iran, Mr Dousti graduated in Mechanics and Water Purification Engineering. He became a radio presenter in 1981 when a regular presenter of IRIB’s Gilan Provincial Radio was late for work and was replaced by Mr Dousti who at that time was working at the network as a production executive.


In the years of Iran-Iraq war, he was a presenter of Radio Jebhe (Frontline Radio). Mr Dousti was the presenter of the program Radio Café which was

at the invitation of the ABU Secretary– General. ABU and AIBD decided to further strengthen their partnership in capacity building. The ABU invited AIBD to not only partner but also shoulder together training activities to meet members’ need. Both organisations agreed to meet on a monthly basis and develop as many joint venture projects as possible.

This year’s Members Stories Theme is: “Looking Beyond Boundaries & Empowering Asia-Pacific”. In line with the ABU General Assembly theme in Istanbul this session will provide space for members to share the best of their innovative and creative television/ radio programming and technical skills that have looked beyond not just the physical boundaries of their local audiences but also any other restricted boundaries of technology, programming and distribution.


To take part in this unique platform, Members must send us a short (i.e. 1-2 minute) audio or video clip of the programme or presentation they wish to showcase. The stories can be from news,


broadcast at working days for many years.


He was acclaimed as a senior radio presenter for the above mentioned production of IRIB and winner of ABU Prizes 2013 in the On-air Personality Category. He was a member of the ABU


EMBERS’ STORIES” is a 10 minutes session which will feature selected


sport, current affairs, documentaries, human interest, science, economics or any other field your station and network has done in a way that has seen beyond the boundaries.


ABU is looking for stories that are courageous, unique and involved some risk in breaking beyond the boundaries that either worked or taught you something important. A senior colleague in your organization will make a short introduction to the excerpt.


Please, submit your proposal to the ABU Secretariat by 10 August 2015 at the latest. Please provide a brief summary of your proposed story, identifying a key lesson that you think your colleagues could learn from your experience. This can be the same information your senior colleague will give in their introduction to it at the GA itself.
