LANDMARC
A unique company working within the landscape
I
was once told by my grandfather that “time flies when you’re having fun”; looking back over the last 25 years of Landmarc, I have to agree with him.
My main aim was to work in the great outdoors, doing what? I wasn’t entirely sure. My background had always been focussed around trucks and heavy plant within the civil engineering industry. This is an area of which I am still very fond. Yet, with my love of England’s landscape and countryside winning out, I explored the idea of combining both in a possible career. Twenty five years later, here we
are. I was born in Worcestershire and then moved to Shropshire, in the heart of England. I was introduced to Devon by my future wife and it was all down the M5 from then on! After 18 years of being based in Shropshire, Landmarc moved to Devon where I could be closer to Dartmoor, its rivers and especially Start Point. Since 1989 Landmarc has evolved
into a unique company specialising in a variety of ways of working within the landscape. We have been fortunate to have worked in some beautiful parts of England, Wales and Scotland; from the Lizard in Cornwall, to the banks of the Caledonian canal in the Scottish highlands, to name a few. We undertake work for a variety
of clients from both the public and private sectors and we pride ourselves on having worked at no

less than 50 properties for the National Trust. This has shaped our ethos of working with nature, using innovative approaches to how we work within the landscape. The fleet of machinery we have built up over the years
is varied, which means that if something is needed for a project, we will have it! We also ensure we maintain the heritage of the industry by lovingly restoring vintage machinery in our workshop.
Now I find myself living
in Devon – working with a dedicated and experienced team allowing Landmarc to expand its areas of expertise even further.
Landmarc offer services in the following areas: • pool and lake design/
