e all like things that are free no matter how wealthy we may be. The very words Free or Sale can bring on the vapours in some women. ‘Buy
one get one free’, yes please! ‘50% off for a limited time only’ can be the very words that cajole you into buying a winter coat in July and then, by the time the cold winds blow, you have set your heart on another one in the colour of the season not the baby blue one you purchased because you were suffering from ‘Sale-itus’. Yes, I made that word up but you know exactly what I am saying. No wonder the sale signs are all in red, they are like a red rag to a bull for some of us. We charge in, grabbing and snatching and, with our eyes swivelling madly from side to side to make sure we have missed nothing, we stagger to the check out under enough clothes to outfit the cast of Les Miserables.
