From Oopsydebsy’s to Sea-Jay’z MEET KINGSWEAR CAFÉ’S NEW OWNER
An already successful riverside cafe/restaurant in Kingswear is now sailing into exciting new waters with local business lady, Jody Newstead, at the helm. Many local folk will know Jody as a keen sailor and part of the family-owned charter business, Dartmouth Yacht Charters based on the Dart, which she has been running for the past 9 years. Jody has now changed tack and taken the wheel at the newly re-named eatery Sea-Jay’z, formerly Oopsydebsys on the high street in Kingswear. She’s still involved withDartmouth Yacht Charters but has stepped back from the day-to-day whilst continuing to look after ‘Your Escape Dartmouth’, the luxury skippered charters aboard the 43ft Colin Archer. Sea-Jay’z will retain a lot of its established character and menu choice, but Jody hopes to add her own flair offering her customers great tasting, wholesome food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere using quality local ingredients and personally selected beverages that complement the food. On the daily menu, you will find traditional English breakfast favourites and delicious baguettes and sandwiches made to order for lunchtime.
A full lunchtime sit-in cooked menu will also be available including an extensive choice for children and vegetarians alike. Dim the lights and light the candles, dinner will be a slightly more formal occasion. Locally sourced specials including juicy meat and freshly caught fish of the day with handmade desserts and spoonfuls of luxury ice-cream will finish off a fantastic evening.
