you click on it, it asks whether you want to reserve a free upgrade. We take a look at what Windows 10 offers and whether you should upgrade. What’s New in Windows 10? The Start Menu is back (missing from Windows 8) and there are many new features. “Cortana” is a voice activated virtual PA service and there is a new browser called “Microsoft Edge”. Windows 10 merges Windows 7 and Windows 8. It’s modern and fresh but most importantly includes many of the features of Windows 7 that were missing from Windows 8. Should You Upgrade to Windows10? upgrade comes through Windows Update and you will see the icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. If you click on “Reserve Upgrade”, Windows 10 will download and you can install it when you wish. Vista and XP Computers If you are running Windows Vista or XP, an upgrade is not available and you will have to do a clean install of Windows 10. You will also have to pay £78 for the Windows 10 Home licence and £131 for Windows 10 Pro. It is doubtful whether it makes financial sense to invest in these older computers and if you have Vista or XP, you should consider buying a new PC. operating system. However, if you have Windows 8.1, you may wish to upgrade as soon as possible! Many have found Windows 8 difficult to use and very slow - Windows 10 should offer a much better experience. If you are using Windows 7, you have a whole year to upgrade free of charge. Once you go to Windows 10, there’s no going back. My advice – if you are on Windows 7, watch and wait for a little while!
