We’ve all been here before haven’t we? New version of Windows released to great fanfare, and then BANG. Different this time?
Rubbish Microsoft releases plague our lives, don’t they? Windows 10 - come on down!
Just a moment, this might not be as bad... Hard to believe but stay with me.
Imagine you run a successful bakery, and one day - you wake up, and replace your bread and cakes for toothpaste. Whos idea was that?
Take Windows 8 - Microsoft took a system that was universally liked (Windows 7), and turned it into toothpaste. We all knew it was a daft mistake... the missing start menu, the silly “apps” that no one uses, the moronic touch- screen layout that thought it was an IPAD (it really wasn’t!), yet doesn’t like your keyboard and mouse. Bizarre wasn‘t it?.

To be fair, Windows 8 was built on better stuff. It’s faster than 7, and more secure.
Windows 10 (they skipped 9 as they wanted a “fresh start”) does seem to resolve some of these earlier desktop foibles and annoyances (not to mention other exciting improvements). Good, because those of us watching Windows 8 a few years back were covering our faces in cringing frustration. Windows 10 is what Windows 8 should have been.
A little Windows 10 “free upgrade” notification might appear soon on your PC. No-one wants to be a lab mouse (forgive the pun), so we suggest waiting a little while. Also be mindful that some software might struggle under the new system.
