DAVID COTTER & ABI PIERCY - MUSIC Sun 16 Aug @ 7.30pm Flavel young artist platform David Cotter: Classical Guitarist David Cotter is a 2nd year music student at Durham university whom Flavel audiences have enjoyed hearing on his 2 previous appearances in our lunchtime concert series. Abi Piercy: Abi is a harpist and singer from Cornwall, and having been awarded the Glady Bratton scholarship is in her first year at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Last year she won the ‘Outstanding Musician’ award at The Cornwall Music Festival.

BOB DYLAN AND THE HISTORY OF ROCK’ N ‘ROLL An Evening with Writer Michael Gray Sat 19 Sept @ 7.30pm This is more 1-man-show than talk. using great records and rare footage, the pioneer of Dylan studies (song & Dance Man, The Bob Dylan encyclopedia) traces how rock’n’roll arrived for teenager Robert Zimmerman, vanished into shallow pop by the time Dylan launched his folk career, and lured him back when he went electric and modernised rock music. This is Michael’s début performance at the Flavel - his events have sold out at arts centres, festivals and colleges in the uK, Ireland and North America, and have gained rave reviews.
