UKSE – Support for SMEs and local communities UK Steel Enterprise

(UKSE) has a specific remit for the regeneration of steel communities by providing a mixture of finance, premises and business support, backed by our parent company, Tata Steel. In Glasgow, Lanarkshire and North Ayrshire alone, we have invested £24 million, supported 1,450 companies and helped create more than 17,000 jobs. Our bottom line is about assisting companies through their growth phase, helping them create employment. We do this by working closely

with SMEs and offering business finance in the form of loans and equity deals best suited to their needs. We’re passionate about

skills training and youth schemes too. To date, we’ve donated £1 million to community initiatives in Scotland including youth centres, charities and non- profit groups to improve

activities and facilities in the region.

This year, UKSE is

celebrating 40 years of creating a supportive environment for the great entrepreneurial spirit latent in our steel areas. Based at Strathclyde Business Park, UKSE has 46,000 sq. ft. of managed office space and industrial units available to

companies needing a place to start or expand. We run an ‘easy in, easy out’ policy for tenants and offer meeting room facilities and 24-hour access.
