Boost for flats plan in city centre

Glasgow Edinburgh Developments Limited has completed the first stage in the further regeneration of the Merchant City/High Street area by arranging the purchase of a vacant site for its associated firm, Grant Stafford Limited. The site will accommodate 56 apartments plus parking and will range from one-bedroom to three-bedroom flats. Glasgow Edinburgh director

Andrew Borthwick was enthusiastic about the potential of the project. He said: “We are very much

looking forward to working with architect Jon Jewitt to create a quality development here. “There is a strong demand

from those who work in the city centre for comfortable accommodation within walking distance of George Square, both from those wishing to purchase and those looking to rent.” The project is about to be

submitted for planning with the possibility of a start on site towards the end of the year.

Advisors are Ryden high after win at award bash

Property advisors Ryden beat a host of rivals to scoop the coveted Property Agency Team of the Year title at the annual Scottish Property Awards. The glittering awards

ceremony, which was attended by more than 500 property professionals, was hosted by TV presenter Catriona Shearer and DJ Grant Stott in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Ryden is consistently

behind around a fifth of all commercial property transactions in Scotland and concluded about 700 deals last year, almost double the tally of its closest competitor. This award comes shortly

after the firm was named Most Active Agent in Scotland for the 13th time by Estates Gazette and singled out by the industry publication as having “huge leads in both the office and industrial sectors”.

Office switch Albus HQ for MadeBrave

MadeBrave celebrated a successful third birthday by moving office to The Albus building in Bridgeton. The award-winning design

agency, run by Andrew Dobbie, announced a turnover of £647,000, up £227,000 on last year, with a projection for its fourth year of £1.2 million. Having doubled in size since January 2014, the business has taken space three times the size of their previous home in Merchant City’s South Block building.

The Albus building on Eastgate,

Bridgeton, is part of a larger regeneration project by Clyde Gateway. MadeBrave became an integral part of the rejuvenation of the area by being the first company to take up residence in The Albus when it moved there in April. Andrew, who is now on the

Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Council of Directors, spent almost 12 months looking for the perfect space before finding The Albus building.

The Scottish Loan Fund (SLF) has committed £700,000 of funding to the event services and management business, ExecSpace, to support its growth strategy. The investment will provide a

significant boost to the business as it looks to widen its geographic reach into London and capitalise on the strong sector dynamics and positive economic indicators which reflect ongoing growth in that market. Founded in 2008 by Emma Little, ExecSpace is a specialist event and accommodation booking agent for more than 200 organisations across the UK.

This investment is another

example of how the SLF is helping companies like ExecSpace to exploit market opportunities and how it continues to be a valuable source of finance for established, growth- oriented SMEs.

Pulsion pushes into Cloud

Pulsion Technology has been selected for the G-Cloud 6 framework. The company, which has recently established a subsidiary company in Dallas, is hoping that appointment to the framework will help the organisation to strengthen its position as a public sector supplier. Having already experienced a

high level of success within the public sector, through successful partnerships with organisations such as the Crown Office, SPPA and Glasgow City Council, expanding its public sector offering though G-Cloud was a key objective for the organisation. With the latest sales figures for the G-Cloud standing at £393.67 million, the G-Cloud offers an excellent platform for Pulsion to showcase its extensive range of professional services to government organisations throughout the UK.The

company has also recently unveiled its new website. As well as a complete redesign,

the new website has introduced some exciting changes in how Pulsion’s service offering is presented. Although the previous site was still

relatively new, the senior management team felt that it was necessary to update the content and design so that it better reflected Pulsion’s proposition, which has evolved significantly over the past 18 months.
