LEONA SEATON: Leona is leading the programme of work. Having worked for Glasgow Chamber for a number of years, Leona has led on the Glasgow Employer Board and the Youth Employment Action Group. She was also responsible for the development of Workforce Solutions; the Youth Enterprise Review; Schools and Business Partnerships and Inspiring500. Previously, Leona worked for
Glasgow Employer Coalition, Equal Access to Employment, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and a community-based organisation. A graduate of the University of Glasgow she has an honours
degree in Social Policy and is a certified CIPD professional.
SHONA MACPHERSON: Shona moves into the role of Education Partnership Co-ordinator following two years as Glasgow Chamber’s Workforce Solutions Executive. Working with partners in the city including Glasgow City Council and Skills Development Scotland, she helped members recruit young people into their business while helping them access over £280,000 in funding. Shona’s new role will involve building stronger links between businesses and schools as well as
making it easier for businesses to recruit young people straight from education. She will manage Glasgow Chamber’s Inspiring500 project, encouraging individuals from the business community to mentor young people in school and work to improve the work experience for young people.
SELINA HALES: Selina joins the team as the Business Partnership Co-ordinator. She previously worked as our Projects Executive. Selina’s new role will
involve recruiting, supporting and managing a bank of employer and apprenticeship
ambassadors, working with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement a strategy for increasing the number of apprenticeships as well as developing a campaign to promote the Youth Accolade award.
JENNIFER HOOD: Jennifer joins Glasgow Chamber of Commerce having just completed her HNC in Administration and Information at Glasgow Clyde College. As the Executive Assistant, she is responsible for monitoring budgets, compiling information for reports as well as organising key meetings and events.
