Atlantic City, NJ

There is so much to do in Atlantic City that this beachfront resort adopted "Do AC" as its motto for a long-running tourism ad campaign in recent years. And while there is certainly much to do here, Atlantic City's options for meetings and conventions are equally impressive, even prompting the establishment of Meet AC, a private, non-profit sales organization whose purpose is to build up the convention, meeting and group market for the city.

Funded by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Meet AC works jointly with the Atlantic City Alliance and Global Spectrum, the management company for both the Atlantic City Convention Center and historic Boardwalk Hall.

The Atlantic City Convention Center boasts five exhibit halls in nearly 500,000-square feet of exhibit space, more than 32,000-square feet of pre-function space, plus 29 covered loading docks and 1,400 available indoor parking spaces. The center also offers convention organizers exceptional food service, the latest in recently upgraded high-tech audio- visual, plus an array of business services on the premises. The adjacent 500-room Sheraton Headquarters Hotel connects to the center via skywalk.

As a destination, Atlantic City offers headline entertainment at the historic Boardwalk Hall and in the many showrooms of the town's eight casino properties. It also is home to highly sought after restaurants, casino gaming, major outlet shopping, a famed beach and boardwalk, and much more.

Atlantic City just keeps getting better for meetings, too. Caesars Entertainment is building a $125.8-million Conference Center at Harrah’s Atlantic City, which is scheduled to open in late summer of 2015. This 100,000-square foot conference space will become the largest convention center-hotel complex between Baltimore and Boston.

Resorts Atlantic City, which is managed by Mohegan Gaming Advisors, recently added the Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Entertainment Complex, which features multiple venues (including the only year-round beachside restaurant in the city), retail shops and more. Resorts is in the process of adding $9.4-million in new conference facility (12,000-square feet), as well, bringing its total function space to 64,000-square feet once their new space is completed this summer.

In addition, Tropicana Atlantic City has undergone over $40 million in recent renovations and is adding a new fitness facility and retail shops to an extensive list of existing on site offerings, such as 2,079 guest rooms, over 24 restaurants, more than 25 shops, numerous nightclubs and bars, 122,000-square feet of function space, and spa and more.
