With one of the east coast's busiest pleasure craft harbors, ocean adventure is available year-round, weather permitting."
"To the west of Ocean City are the coastal bays that offer recreational boat- ing, sailing or wind surfing activities, as well as fishing and crabbing," he contin- ued. "Golf is abundant here with 17 championship golf courses all within a 20 minutes of the beach. In fact, the Ocean City area boasts three of Maryland's best golf courses, and two of Delaware’s best are nearby, too. What's more, 12 of our area courses have been rated four-stars or better by Golf Digest."
At the end of the day, Wise noted that Ocean City really only has one industry - and that is hospitality. "We know the owners of our hotels and restaurants. We grew up working for those owners, not property 'managers.' When the managing director at the Hilton, the Marriott Courtyard or the Commander in Ocean City asks you if you've enjoyed your stay, don’t tell anyone, but he or she and their family actually own the hotel."
"Hospitality is basically all we do here," he continued. "If we don’t do it right all the time every time, we are out of work. We are a community of citizens that have been raised to understand that challenge. We are not union driven or corporate driven. This is what we do, and we take a great deal of pride in that."
The Wildwoods, New Jersey
Oh, those Wildwood Days! This beach resort town is so popular that a song was even written about the good times to be had here. According to Bobby Rydel, every day in the Wildwoods is a holiday, and every night is a Saturday night. For anyone who has been here, it's hard to argue. The resort has long been - and still remains - the epitome of fun for gen- erations.
