Villanova University Conference Center
Head south from Muhlenberg College to Philadelphia’s Main Line, home of Villanova University (founded in 1842 by the Order of Saint Augustine). With an emphasis on liberal arts, the university’s educational philosophy is one of stu- dent and professor partnerships. There are more than 10,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students in the university’s six colleges, which offer liberal arts and sciences, business, engineering, nursing, professional studies and law.
Villanova Conference Center, located near campus, is one of the region’s most booked venues. “We hold 360 corporate meetings per year, and 400 educational programs,”reports Rosemarie Mohr, director of sales and marketing for the con- ference center. “Our site, which includes an excellent hotel, is a profit center for the university. We have just under 24,000-square feet of space, 24 meeting rooms, six permanent-style boardrooms, along with an amphitheater. Audio- visual equipment and high-speed Internet access are built into every room. Full-size projectors are found in larger rooms, while smaller spaces feature flat screen televisions with LED HVMI connections.”
This IACC-approved (International Association of Conference Centers) full- service conference facility accommodates up to 250 guests. Its business center and fitness center are both open 24-hours to provide endless opportunity for work and play. A dedicated conference planning team is at the ready to help execute and enhance conferences and events. To ensure smooth and trouble- free performance,an audio-visual technician is always available. In a capsule, Villanova University Conference Center blends a learning environment with the added advantages of an executive business center.
Another important asset is fine dining. Set in the prestigious Montrose Mansion, the center brings class and grace to every meal, banquet and special occasion. Conference guests may choose casual fare in the Game Room or three-course dinners in the mansion or terrace.
“We have an award-winning chef,”punctuates Mohr. “IACC-Americas named Laura Leonetti a Copper Skillet Champion in 2014 and again this year. Her most recent award winning dish was venison filet with red wine shallot reduc- tion, chili root vegetable and apple ragout, carrot green and radish salad. Last year she prepared filet mignon and jumbo prawns, white asparagus, sauteed sweet potatoes, mango and avocado salsa. If your mouth is watering, you know how happy our conference attendees are,”concludes Mohr.
