Get on Your Bike for a Healthy Life!
For an older cyclist like myself, go electric! After a major operation two years ago, I tried to keep cycling daily but, getting more breathless, decided to try an electric bike while on holiday in Aviemore.
I quickly became a convert and after trying diff erent models bought an EASY-GO bike about 12 weeks ago from a very helpful dealer in Linlithgow, (
www.easygoebikes.com) who allows you to try diff erent models at his shop. I chose a top range gear model, Batribike Diamond LCD for £950, which was delivered to my house fully assembled.

Living in a hilly area, I can now go several miles into the countryside trying to pedal most of the time with the electric motor as a boost. The battery sits over the back wheel and when fully charged, I can travel 30-40 miles. It takes about 4-6 hours to recharge the battery. Folding bikes can be obtained to be put on a car boot to take on holidays.
I wear a helmet, a yellow jacket and yellow gloves. I take great care at roundabouts and try to stick to minor roads for a smoother ride. The saddle is comfortable and the saddlebag is handy for shopping and carrying a bike lock.
The electric boost still gives me a thrill and my advice to those who are thinking about it is “Go out and buy one!”
