Update from Dunblane in Bloom

I am slowly trying to fi t in as Chair of Dunblane in Bloom, fi nding there’s a bit more to do than I expected. We have had a fantastic summer for plants which seems to have gone on and on, but we have now cleared all the barrels , beds, baskets, and troughs for winter. We are also trying to do a fi nal tidy up and plan next years planting.

I don’t think things will change much, more like“ business as usual”, but as the DDT said in their last report, we are as a group getting older, so we will need to look at way of reducing our workload , for example moving more to permanent than annual plants, where appropriate.

We have continued to work on the Rock garden, like most gardens it is never “ fi nished” but changes and evolves as time goes by. We would like to thank Brenda Kay who donated some large permanent plants from her garden, these should thrive in the area near the railway bridge, where we have planted them.

Dunblane in Bloom greatly appreciated the kind donation of wood chips from the Doune and Dunblane Agricultural Society Committee for the paths at the Rock Garden.

We would like to wish a Happy New Year to all the people who kindly Sponsor our Tubs throughout Dunblane and everyone who stops to put money into our collecting tins and makes kind comments.
