The women’s team is a group of 27 experienced and athletic women from Vancouver to Quebec City. Comprised of six returning players from 2012, 10 players that will compete in the USAU college series, and a handful of players that have spent the last two years competing in the women’s division. Even with the top to bottom experience, the players are showing the drive to improve and the confidence to perform. The most impressive characteristic of the team is how well rounded it is, with every player on the field presenting a potential threat.
We want to thank all Team Canada applicants for your participation. Thanks for pushing yourself to succeed, thank you for your willingness to learn new things, and thank you for making Canada a powerhouse on the international stage. The tryout experience has instilled valuable lessons in both players and coaches that will no doubt stay with us as we reach for gold in Italy. Thank you also to all the volunteers that took time out of their weekend to make the tryouts possible. You have all made the beginning of the season a positive experience.
Watch for the junior open and women’s teams at Flower Bowl and Jazz Festival. You can support the teams by purchasing a Team Canada Disc from the players, as well as official Team Canada gear from VC Ultimate.
