2004 CUC Champs - Vancouver, BC
The Nomads have always had a strong community focus. Their players have regularly captained and coached teams both in the Victoria city league and at the University of Victoria, where Ultimate remains one of the most popular intramural sports. But above all, they have been a strongly bonded team, a group of lifelong friends. This is perhaps best expressed by the words of founder Dave Martin.
“I am extremely proud to have had the opportunity to have played a role in starting what is not only an amazing Ultimate team, but in bringing together a group of friends that are like family to me. There’s a reason I make the trek each year from California, where I now live, to join the Nomads in their annual get-together on Pender Island.”

The most important thing about the Nomads to me is that they are a team. We played as a team and we stay in touch as a team. I could not be more proud of this group of friends, the likes of which I will never find anywhere else.”
