“Picture Julia Child and her husband Paul, that would be these two dogs, Jack and Jill,” ~ Jo Maldonado, animal reader. (As told to The New Barker).

On respite and recovery from two hip surgeries in 2007, Jo Maldonado began studying her life long passion of animaltohuman communication and relationships. This led her to open Centers for Animal Therapies in Central Florida, an educational program for the understanding of, and alterna tive healing techniques for animals in 2009. As the program grew, so did Jo’s

ability to recognize the relationship between the intuitive and the behavioral aspects of the animal and human species. Volunteering at animal sanctuaries gave her the opportunity to observe and prac tice her studies. She found that 100% of the time, all animals responded to the telepathic send ing of messages, sending a response in return. Her observations have led her to

Editor’s Note: We come across dogs all the time, and wonder what is behind their soul ful eyes? How did they end up in a shelter? What was life like before they ended up in such dire straights? Jack and Jill are a curi ous pair, in that they ended up at a South Florida shelter together, after each had been found roaming the streets. Thankfully, they were then picked up and fostered by Big Dog Ranch Rescue. We asked animal reader, Jo Maldonado if she could give us a little insight into Jack and Jill. We only gave her this photograph and their names, nothing more.

Jo said the odd couple made her smile. A love story, just like Julia Child and her husband Paul. In another lifetime, Jack and Jill (the dogs) were an inseparable (human) couple, if you so believe in that possibility. But then, if you believe in ani- mal communication, then other lifetimes are really not that far-fetched. In the present, Jill is in charge, but

always with a soft heart, patient and kind. Jack is strong, although sometimes he is a bit overwhelmed with Jill’s size. But cer- tainly not enough to cower from her. There is a mutual admiration between these two. They’ve both seen a hard life,

separately, and now together. But, they bring comfort and strength to each other, and have vowed that they will bring pro- tection and love to whomever adopts them as a couple. How did they meet? “Behind bars

is what I’m hearing,” said Jo. “I see a shel- ter situation. I see the two being placed in a holding room together for a temporary short stay. Prior to that, I see them run- ning in the street. It is unclear as to whether they were running together, but I see them on sidewalks, and around cars.” Jack was with an older woman who

was unable to care for a dog, and unaware of the security issue in her backyard. That’s how Jack escaped. Jill was living with a young couple who had a very small child. “When the husband brought Jill home, the wife was not happy, and felt the dog was a problem,” said Jo. On finding a forever home, Jo said

that since Jill is fond of sports, a family that is outdoors driven would be just per- fect, allowing her to indulge her athleti- cism. Jack will be happy as long as he is with Jill. Although, he did intimate that he would love to go to the office with some- one and just snooze as his humans worked away the day. U

evolve the theory that all thoughts, including subconscious ones, take on energy. Animals respond to the energy and thoughts that humans send.

Through the process of hypnosis

with her clients, Jo began to see how the conscious and subcon scious state of the human directly affects the physical action of their animal. If the human was in a calm mindset, so was the animal. If the human was tense, erratic and nerv ous, the animal would respond accordingly. Her lectures have typi cally included volunteers from the audience to demonstrate this theo ry, taking dogs on leashes that are deemed “out of control” by their owners, and calming them simply by adjusting the energy of the human. Jo’s studies have led her to conclude that not only do thoughts have energy, but body language coupled with sound, body mechan ics and breath, also contribute to the energetic signal that is sent to animals.
