Preferring jeans over dresses, finding the perfect attire for her special day was

going to be a process. Luckily, she had plenty of help when she found “the one” - an Oleg Cassini with a lace jacket. Her mother, Pam, made her veil. For shoes, she chose four-inch Vera Wang booties. They chose the first and only venue they looked at - Hidden Acres. “It was absolutely stunning and unique. It has a cabin for the brides- maids and the bride to stay the night before and a ‘man cave’ for the men. There’s a larger building for reception and rehearsal, a lovely little pond, a retro faux gas sta- tion with an older model car and truck when you first pull in the drive, and the most beautiful, intimate and rustic chapel. Donny Gerald spends a tremendous amount of time and energy ensuring each of his bride and groom’s experiences at Hidden Acres is amazing and flawless. He’s fantastic at making sure you’re able to access the venue for anything additional like bridal portraits or engagement photos.” They united in holy matrimony on November 2, 2013 in front of 80 guests. Mi-

chelle’s neck was adorned with her stepdad’s mother’s pearls, which comple- mented her gown perfectly. For her borrowed and blue, she wore her mother’s garter. Her wedding band was a simple white gold band, the same width of her engagement ring. Beckham’s was a silver tungsten carbide band with Celtic de- signs in honor of Michelle’s Scottish maiden name. Both bands were purchased from Galloway and Moseley. Her bridal boutique held meaning to her. “During my rebellious I’m-never-going-to-get-married days, I started a tattoo that turned into a half sleeve on my arm. The design was a locket with a key attached. For décor, we had many vintage items and a million or so skeleton keys of all different shapes and sizes. Leslie Carpenter, from A&B Florist, perfectly laid keys, lockets and pearl strands against rustic candle holders surrounded by a combination of lace overlays, burlap and fresh floral. My mom also rallied our family and friends to ensure everything was breathtaking. Many thanks to my mom, Adrienne Carter, Doris Gerrald, Missie Burris and Cindy Burris.” For the reception, guests divulged in a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. And don’t

forget the sweetest part - the cake! “Both the wedding cake and heart shaped groomsmen’s cake were made by Linda Freeman of Buttercream and was per- fect, elegant and delicious. I simply cannot say enough great things about it. It was absolutely incredible.” For their mini-honeymoon, they stayed a couple of nights at Hotel Florence. They’re currently searching for the perfect location for their extended honeymoon. “I have to giggle about the feelings I had. All the anxiety, stress and planning that

goes into this one day go into production mode. I spent the night in the cabin at Hid- den Acres with my pregnant childhood best friend, Amanda and her husband, Don. Breakfast was brought to the cabin for us by my incredible mom. My other brides- maids and matrons of honor showed up soon aſterwards with ingredients for mimo- sas. By the time I was standing outside the chapel doors and my bridesmaids began to walk, I felt such ease. There’s no man better as a best friend or partner. I guess you could say that was the time I knew he was the one. Better late than never, right?” What she loves most is being married to her best friend. “I admire how much

we’ve grown as a couple and how much we continue to grow. I thank God every day for being such a loving Father and showing us what’s meant to be. I pray for more patience, and I look to my girlfriends to show me what it means to be a great wife. I refer back to the great advice given to us by our friends and family in our Jane Madden guestbook. Every day is still a unique adventure!”
