“Meredith, I will love you till the twelfth of never. Will you marry me?”
On August 10, 2013 at Bethea Baptist’s chapel, Jimmy and Meredith official-
ly became husband and wife. “My dream was for everything to work out per- fectly. And that he would show up!” Jimmy adds, “I wasn’t going anywhere! The day had arrived for us to seal our love and make it public. It was emotion- al and exciting.” She doesn’t remember much from the ceremony except that she promised to spoil him rotten. Things didn’t slow down once they said I do! The next day, they leſt for their honeymoon in Alaska. They originally planned to see the Northern Lights but unfortunately were not able to during that time of year. It’s still on their agenda, however! Married life has been quite the rollercoaster so far, but they’ve made it
through all of the ups and downs with the help of each other. Jimmy shares what he’s looking forward to the most about their future, “Settling, just being in one place for a while, and it being just the two of us together. I’m looking forward to traveling together, making plans, seeing the family, having the kids around, inviting grandkids to the beach in the summertime and showing them around. Our family is very important, and our grandkids are very spe- cial. We would love to spend more time with them. I look forward to what’s going to happen next, just the anticipation of tomorrow.” Meredith admits that she feels honored and complete being his loving wife.
“He’s such a wonderful man. He will do anything in the world that I ask him to do. He spoils me rotten!” And there’s no doubt about it - his feelings are just as strong. “She understands me. She looks aſter my needs. She’s very patient with me, too. She loves my children and grandkids; they fell in love with her, too. To me, that’s a great quality. She’s a giving and sharing person. She likes doing things for people without them even knowing. A lot of the things I saw in her made me want to know more about her, and I began to fall in love with all these little things. It feels like an unbelievable dream. I used to tell her to pinch me because I’m dreaming!” When I asked Jimmy what he hopes she knows more than anything else, he replied: “That my love for her will never die. I will love her in spite of whatever. My love is real. I will not leave her, I will not forsake her. I will be here. It’s a commitment, and I am serious about it.” Asked the same question, Meredith shares: “I will never stop loving him. I will love him until the stars fall from the sky and the rivers run dry. Until the twelſth of never and beyond.” I leſt Bethea Baptist that day with so much joy and warmth in my heart. This
beautiful couple is all of the proof that I need to know for certain that love has no age limit; you’re never “too old” for a fairy tale to come true. Love is grand. Love is splendorous. It makes the world go ‘round. And when you’ve found it with your soulmate (as Meredith and Jimmy have), that is the greatest trea- sure of all to share with each other. My prayer is for all of us to find love that lasts not only for a lifetime but forever. Perhaps I should let Mr. Mathis ex- plain: “I’ll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom; I’ll love you till the clover has lost its perfume. I’ll love you till the poets run out of rhyme. Until the twelſth of never and that’s a long, long time.”
Jimmy and Meredith Fore reside in Surfside Beach. For 35 years, Meredith was an ac- countant and Jimmy was a school teacher, minister and guidance counselor. Meredith has two children, Robert and Brian Sypolt, and five grandchildren: Joshua, Nikki, Alan, Courtney and Kaitlyn. Jimmy has three daughters - Donna, Julia and Carol - and six grandchildren: Brittany, Jason, Erin, Robyn, Jamie and Cameron. He is also the proud great grandfather of precious baby Amelia Rose.
