The Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre - University of Cambridge can be found on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and is involved in world-leading research programmes involving patients and healthy volunteers using MR Imaging & Spectroscopy and PET imaging. To be considered for this role you must have experience of acute patient care in cross sectional imaging with some MRI experience. All applicants must be registered with the HCPC and hold BSc (Hons) in Radiography or DCR equivalent.

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Lecturer/ Practitioner in Diagnostic Imaging to join the teams at BHRUT and London South Bank University. The Clinical Departments offer all Imaging Modalities within a busy District General Hospital setting and to succeed in this role, you must demonstrate evidence of post-graduate study and experience in the supervision and training of less experienced radiographers, students and other departmental staff.


The award-winning BHR University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest Associate Teaching Hospitals, providing acute care for over 700,000 people from across 2 main sites – Queen’s & King George Hospitals, Victoria Hospital in Romford for Breast services as well as peripheral sites at Barking, Dagenham and Harold Wood. It is a major Neurosciences centre, and is undergoing significant further development as a tertiary referral centre for North East London and Essex, including additional critical care capacity.


The Department of Allied Health Sciences situated at London South Bank University’s Southwark Campus is one of the largest of its kind in the UK with a national and international profile. It offers a wide and complex provision of pre-registration programmes for those seeking professional qualifications and for those seeking further professional and academic career developments.


You will be employed on a Trust-wide basis at BHRUT and will spend up to two days a week at LSBU to participate in the teaching of the BSc Diagnostic Radiography programme, ensuring that they maintain awareness of education and training issues and can inform the University of the developments at BHRUT. You will also act as the link between the University and the Trust when students are on placement with the Trust.


You will be expected to develop and maintain an interest in research and development, take part in regular clinical governance, and be actively involved in postgraduate Radiographer/AHP and nursing education as required. The post holders can expect unrivalled opportunities to work with a group of friendly, dynamic and motivated colleagues, both within the academic and clinical settings.


The new Queen’s Hospital site and the Victoria Hospital site are within walking distance from Romford mainline station, and there is a reliable train service from here to London Liverpool Street station every 10 minutes (with a travelling time of 15-30 minutes). The King George site has direct bus services from Goodmayes Station (British Rail from Liverpool Street station) and Newbury Park station (London underground).
