CT HEAD TECHNIQUE AND INTERPRETATION STUDY DAY 22 February (All day) The Hilton Hotel, Leeds This one-day study day introduces the principles of CT head interpretation, covering basic anatomy and physiological principles. Common pathologies are covered, including trauma, stroke, degeneration,
infection and tumours. The course reviews the basic concepts of CT acquisition technique, whilst considering IR(ME)R and NICE clinical guidelines. The course is aimed at radiographers who are new to CT and those who are

ORTHOPAEDIC AND RED DOT X-RAY INTERPRETATION STUDY DAY 5 April (All day) Charles Hastings Education Centre, Worcestershire Royal Hospital
Endorsed by the SoR, this course has been developed to provide radiographers with skills in x-ray interpretation from a radiological and orthopaedic perspective. This will help bridge the gap between radiographers applying red dots to x-rays and radiographers commenting on trauma films. The aim of the day is to provide you with the practical skills, knowledge and confidence required to interpret common trauma and orthopaedic x-rays. CT COLONOGRAPHY: 3 DAY PRACTICAL SKILLS AND REPORTING COURSE 23-25 April, Peterborough City Hospital This three day course is aimed at all radiographers and junior doctors with an interest in CT colonography. It is helpful for both trained CT radiographers and
FOUNDATION DEGREE (FdSc) IN BREAST IMAGING FOR BREAST SCREENING ASSISTANT PRACTITIONERS (APs).
Two year modular programme commencing 28th April 2014 delivered over five separate weeks.
THE PROGRAMME
Meets the requirements of Core Standards for APs (3.2, 3.2 “Skills for health”) which states that “education and training of APs should be at level 5 and duration of training of APs should normally be two years”
Is running for its 7th successful year
Is designed and delivered in partnership with The Jarvis Centre National Breast Education Centre, Guildford and St Georges NHS Trust
Is the only programme in Southern England that offers entry for mammography APs
Includes face-to-face teaching, online delivery, distance and work-based learning with the help of a practice educator.
