FUELLING YOUR DAY
Young, male on-the-go breakfasters can now get charged for the day with FUEL's new milk-based breakfast drinks. Coming in three flavours, chocolate, strawberry and caramel latte, they're aimed at the increasing number of male breakfast skippers in the UK, driven out of the category by a lack of time, choice and engagement. Liquid FUEL is packaged in the Tetra Prisma® Aseptic 330ml carton, an ergonomically designed portion pack that is easy to grip and carry on- the-go. It also has a re-sealable cap – DreamCapTM – a new closure that has been specifically designed so it is comfortable and easy to drink from whilst on the move. Each pack also contains over 20g of protein, and a vitamin mix to support active lifestyles that includes vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12 and E.
SOUPER DESIGN
Fresh soup company, Yorkshire Provender, have revolutionised its range of six soups. Their new innovative ‘pouch in carton’ serving is designed for portability, with microwave-friendly cartons featuring a cardboard outer layer to keep the pack relatively cool and easier to handle. There is also reduced waste for retailers and is made from eco-friendly packaging, with over 80% less plastic used than the traditional pots. The packaging is British designed and was developed by Terry Williams of Yorkshire Provender over a nine month period. He worked closely with Design Futures at Sheffield Hallam University on the pouch construction and with retained agency Big Fish Design in London on the branding.
SPICING UP THEIR SELECTION
Piper's Crisps have brought out a new flavour in their range of premium crisps. True to form, they have carefully select- ed their flavour partner; choosing specialist farmer and butcher Chris Wildman in Kirkby Malham, Yorkshire, who rears rare breed Oxford Sandy and Black pigs, creating his own unique Yorkshire Chorizo in the on-site charcuterie. This artisan pairing is the first new flavour from the Lincolnshire-based crisp manufactures for several years, and will have its launch to the public at IFE 2013 in March.
