Kliklok

demonstrates equipment

During a series of open days held in September, Kliklok demonstrated their Collating Robotic Loader and Race Track system, fully integrated with its SFR end load cartoner, automatically picking, grouping and packing collations of flow wrapped cereal bars at up to 150 cartons per minute. The Collating Robotic Loader is an innovative flexible machine, suited to handle the output from low to high-speed machines and collate wrapped products into cartons or trays at up to 600 products per minute. It incorporates advanced design electronic motion control technology using a combination of servo motor drives and a robotic Flex Picker. The SFR is Kliklok’s best selling end load cartoner, offering a short footprint, with patented rotary

carton feeder, interactive colour touch screen and easy, repeatable size change for maximum productivity. For those wanting to see a higher speed, higher specification end load cartoner, Kliklok demonstrated the CELOX model. Kliklok has installed several of these machines to pack a variety of products such as flow wrapped burgers, muffins, and pizzas. To accommodate the huge variation in today’s food industry, Kliklok offers a choice of product infeed systems for both the SFR and CELOX cartoners. This ranges from simple conveyor extensions to fully automatic re-orientating, conditioning, transfer and stacking units. One of these product- handling systems is Kliklok’s Cascade Loader, demonstrated during the open days. This stand- alone unit has a top speed of 120 products per minute, and is designed to feed bags or sachets in singles or collated stacks using a timed three- stage vertical drop rotor system. The products can be dropped either into the moving flights of an end load cartoner’s infeed or directly into a top load carton as part of a forming, filling and closing line. Standard features include an icon based colour touch screen, to enable easy recipe-style product listings and selectable multi-collations for quick change over. This screen also enables fully adjustable drop timing and conveyor speed adjustment. One machine demonstration that proved popular was Kliklok’s CERTIWRAP wraparound cartoner. The company has installed over 70 of these machines worldwide to sleeve a variety of products with many different carton styles being used. For example, a “watch-strap” style

for pizzas; a shaped sleeve for ice cream or snack pots; “stand-up” style for shelf ready display packs; gusseted sleeves for Tetrabottles or beverages; ‘V’ keel style for yoghurts or dessert pots; and traditional full sleeve for ready meals. With a proven history of expertise and success in automatic packaging machinery, Kliklok’s open days were the perfect opportunity to showcase the company’s impressive range of equipment to the food industry. For more information call + 44 (0)1275 836131, email m.newman@kliklok-int.com or visit www.kliklok-int.com.
