Maj. Gen. Tracy Garrett Special Assistant to the Commander, U. S. Africa Command
aj. Gen Tracy Garrett is a graduate of the University of Washington and earned a bachelor’s degree in English. Formerly a Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) student she was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1978. Garrett was promoted to major general in the summer of 2010. At the time she was responsible for establishing the Force Headquarters Group and Marine Forces Reserve, com- manding it through August of 2012. In her current posi- tion today, Maj. Gen. Garrett is the special assistant to the commander of the United States Africa Command. She is a graduate of the Reserve Amphibious Warfare Course, Reserve Command and Staff Course, Reserve Intelligence Officers Course and the Advanced Logistics Officers Course. She also earned a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island.

Gen Monahan was commissioned in 1984 and was initially assigned to the Education Center, Marine

Corps Development and Education Command. In 1986 she was assigned to 1st Landing Support Battalion where she served as platoon commander, Company ‘C’ Later, she served as series commander, Company Commander and Battalion S-4 until she transferred to the Marine Corps Re- serve in Oct. 1990. Mobilized in January 1991, she served in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. Returning to reserve duty, her assignment to the 25th Marine Regiment quickly turned into mobilization in support of Operation Enduring Freedom until August 2003. Later she held billets as transportation officer, Marine Logistics Command. In November 2008 she returned to active duty as the assis- tant chief of staff, G-7 Engineers, II MEF (Fwd).

rig. Gen. Loretta Reynolds took charge of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in 2011. She was com- missioned by the Marine Corps in May 1986 as a recent graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy. As a communications officer, she was initially assigned to Communications Compa- ny, Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Later in her career, she served as action officer and deputy division head for Strategic Plans Division, Command, Control, Communica- tions, and Computers Department. In March 2009, Reynolds assumed command of the I (First) Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group at Camp Pendleton. She deployed the Group to Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan from March 2010 to March 2011.

In 1983, Braun was assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron serving as a mission commander, aircraft commander, and instructor pilot in the EC-130Q aircraft. Staff assignments in- clude naval intern on the Joint Staff, aviation detailer at Navy Personnel Command, and chief of staff, CNO Operations and Plans.
Braun’s command tours include: Navy Air Logistics Office; Navy Reserve Carrier Strike Group 10 supporting the USS Harry S. Truman and Joint Task Force Katrina. Flag assign- ments include deputy commander, Navy Recruiting Com- mand; director, Total Force Management for the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Dominance and deputy director, European Plans and Operations Center, Stuttgart, Germany.
