Park Launches World’s Longest Water Ride
Australian theme park, Jamberoo Action Park, is expecting its best summer ever thanks to the addition of two major rides located in its AUS$11.6m Kangaroo Island extension. The Funnel Web is the longest and biggest water ride of its kind in the world and Banjo’s Billabong is the largest interactive water play area in the southern hemisphere.
Riders can reach speeds of up to 30km an hour in the Funnel Web, which takes them through a dark and twisting 280m slide and features multiple zero gravity moments. Banjo’s Billabong includes water slides, water cannons, bridge climbs and a huge bucket which tips 1,200 litres of water over guests every ten minutes. Executive Director of the park, Dax Eddy, said: “We’re excited to officially open stage one of our Kangaroo Island expansion to the public this summer. Funnel Web and Banjo’s Billabong are world class water rides and attractions which will wow guests of all ages.”
Unique Wellness And Spa Water Park Opens in Italy
A new wellness and spa has opened at Park Hotel Al Cappuccini in Gubbio, Italy. The visually stunning Cappuccini Wellness &
Spa Water Park is made up of two areas. The first is a 350 m2
open access space, called
Acque Emozionali (Emotional Waters). This space features a swimming pool with lanes for swimming, a children’s pool, counter-current swimming and a hydromassage area with a temperature of 30°C. The second space is more intimate and private. The Hydromassage Room features a circular hydromassage, an ark shaped hydromassage that uses magnesium and potassium enriched water and a thalassic tub. Designed by the architect Simone Micheli,
the Water Park is the result of not only a refined aesthetic vision, but also a design path directed towards creating an environment that makes a visitor’s wellness stay unique and incomparable. Addition spa facilities include a mediterranean bath, a sauna, a Turkish bath and a relaxation room. Micheli’s design uses giant yellow sculptures and blue lighting to accentuate the focus on water and create a playful and almost cartoon like atmosphere. The work is typical of the architect and the playful theme permeates every element of this location dedicated to the magnification of the relationship between man and water, transforming it into a true ‘symbolic work’.

The new event called Piscine SPLASH! Asia combines the resources of GL Events, organisers of the world’s largest pool show in Piscine in Lyon and Interpoint Events, organisers of the award winning SPLASH! Pool & Spa Trade Show in Australia. Piscine and SPLASH! have true international knowledge of the pool and spa industry with over 30 years of expertise and the same criteria for providing quality events. Piscine SPLASH!
